
Dr. Zeinab Esmaeili

Dr. Zeinab Esmaeili has been a faculty member at Thompson Rivers University (TRU), specializing in communication and public relations, international marketing, and management. She teaches a diverse range of courses in these fields and has contributed significantly to curriculum development. In addition to her teaching responsibilities, Dr. Esmaeili plays a vital role in academic governance at TRU and beyond. She presently serves as Vice-Chair of FPSE’s Academic Governance Committee at the Federation of Post-Secondary Educators of BC, where she actively shapes academic policies and promotes inclusive educational practices. She is also a TRU Faculty Association (TRUFA) Representative on the Equivalent Workload Committee, the Chair of Research and Scholarship Representative, and Chair of the Academic Governance Committee on the TRUFA Executive Committee, and a committed member of the Sustainability Committee, Indigenization Working Group, and Strategic Planning Discussion Committee. Through these roles, she advocates for equitable academic policies, sustainability initiatives, and progressive curriculum development.
Beyond her current leadership positions, Dr. Esmaeili has been actively involved in faculty governance, research, and institutional planning. She has served as Vice-Chair of the Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) Committee and has contributed to various key committees, including the Senate International Affairs Committee (SIAC), the Teaching and Learning Committee, and the Research Committee. Additionally, she played an integral role in TRU’s Strategic Research Plan, having served on the committee that analyzed and authored the Research Collaboration Plan, which has helped shape the university’s research priorities.
Dr. Esmaeili’s dedication to academic excellence, faculty advocacy, and inclusive governance underscores her commitment to fostering a collaborative and forward-thinking academic environment. Through her leadership and active participation in faculty initiatives, she continues to support sustainable educational practices and policies that enhance the learning experience for both faculty and students at TRU.
